Computer Instruction at Literacy Source
Literacy Source believes that computer stills are foundational in today's world - both in the context of work as well as in the personal life. Recognizing that computer skills are critical to every learner, Literacy Source integrates computer use and instruction in all classes; however, we do not offer standalone computer classes.
Although standalone classes are not offered, Literacy Source does offer one-on-one tutoring for beginning and intermediate computer users as well as job seekers. Our student computers, which are available to all students, are each equipped with the Rosetta Stone language learning program and Keyboarding Pro. Click here for more information about Rosetta Stone.
Computer Emphasis Classes
Classes with a computer emphasis meet in our computer classroom and are capped at eight students each. These classes are:
- • Integrated Basic Skills
- • Integrated Basic Skills for Job Seekers
Computer Tutoring
One-on-one tutors work with adult learns on their specific learning needs and goals. These may include basic computer skills, researching educational and job opportunities, writing resumes, and much more. Priority is given to students who are already studying basic literacy skills or are involved in other Literacy Source programs like Citizenship and EDP. Computer tutoring requires a commitment of one hour per week for 12 weeks.
