English as a Second Language (ESL)

If you are an adult immigrant or refugee and want help learning to speak, read, write, and understand English, Literacy Source may be able to help you. Our services are free to eligible students, who are taught by trained volunteers and staff. You can study by yourself, with one teacher, with a small group, or in a larger class.

Please be aware: At Literacy Source, we provide free ESL classes and tutoring first to the students who need it most, including people who don't have enough English skills to be self-sufficient in their community or who are unable to attend ESL classes due to family, financial, or work reasons. Please keep in mind that we do not always have enough space or teachers available to teach English to everyone.

For more information or to register for a class, call 206.782.2050 or email us to set up an appointment for an orientation. The current orientation schedule can be found here.
