Emergency Preparedness Presentation

August 15, 2011Staff, students, and volunteers came for the unveiling of our new video, "Writing the Next Chapter." If features students sharing their experiences and stories studying at Literacy Source.
Fire Station Tour
June 15, 2011Staff, students, and their children toured the neighborhood fire station and listened to a talk on fire safety that reminded everyone to regularly check their smoke alarm batteries. The kids particularly enjoyed climbing in the truck and donning firefighter hats!
Annual Breakfast 2011
May 4, 2011Board members, staff, students, volunteers, and community members enjoyed a delicious breakfast and listened to engaging stories from our inspiring adult learners at Literacy Source. The featured guest speaker was Nancy Pearl, author of Book Lust To Go, Book Lust, More Book Lust, and Book Crush.
Stress Relief Workshop
February 17, 2010Scott Moser, a student of naturopathic medicine at Bastyr University, lead a workshop on the prevention and reduction of stress. Students, staff, volunteers, and friends of Literacy Source participated and left with stress-relieving tea and lots of valuable tips! Thanks, Scott!
Martin Luther King Jr. Day Rally and March
January 18, 2010A group of Literacy Source students and staff joined together to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with an early morning discussion, a bus trip to the rally at Garfield High School, and participation in the march to the federal building downtown.
