The GED-i is an online teaching tool that helps you practice the skills necessary to get your high school diploma. If you have access to a computer and the internet at home, work, or the library—or if you can come to Literacy Source’s computer lab—then you can study using the GED-i. This is offered for free at Literacy Source to eligible students.
The GED-i prepares you to take the GED exam or External High School Diploma Program. The GED-i is organized into subject modules: reading, writing, math, social studies, and science. You only work in the subject areas in which you need the practice and review. Once you can complete the modules’ practice tests at 70% or higher, you are ready for the GED exam.
Is the GED-i right for you?
- I have experience sending and receiving emails
- I am sending and opening attachments in emails
- I am savvy at navigating the internet
- I am proficient in basic keyboarding
- I have regular access to a computer
- I can dedicate the same amount of time needed to complete a GED class
- I can attend a student orientation session and meet with a staff member to discuss my goals
If you don’t have these computer skills, call 206.782.2050 to sign up for a session with a one-to-one Computer Tutor. Literacy Source can help you develop the skills for online learning. If you have questions about the GED-i, please email abe@literacysource.org.
